Can you believe I’ve got to the age of 19 and never been to a Christmas Market?! No, I can’t either – particularly when you remember how much I love the festive season. So something had to change this year. Living in the middle of the country, means that I am actually in the perfect location to easily visit loads of different Christmas Markets, whether that be Manchester, Nottingham, or for this post Birmingham. I can hands down say I’ve never experience anything quite like it, and left feeling more Christmassy than I’ve ever felt! SO I thought I would take you guys along with me!
There really is something for everyone when it comes to Christmas markets, food stalls, gift stalls and most importantly hot chocolate and mulled wine stalls. I can’t explain how magical the whole experience was. If you’re lacking the festive spirit this year, I couldn’t recommend visiting a Christmas market highly enough.
For the Brummie Christmas markets, they couldn’t be in a better location. Running all along the main highstreet. Just a stones throw away from the Bullring shopping centre and also the Grand Central train station. Lending itself perfectly for a day split between both the Christmas markets and also a bit of Christmas shopping!
Birmingham Christmas markets are specifically German markets (I think..could be wrong). So as soon as you enter the market you are greeted with a million and one different food options from giant frankfurters all the way to tasty churros. There really is something to suit anyones taste, believe me when I say it was incredibly hard to restrain myself from picking up any food!
I could imagine that visiting somewhere like this is a lovely experience with your other half – I’m not exaggerating when I say most the people here were happy couples. A nice reminder of how single I am. However it was just as special visiting it with all of my university friends. Next year I would really love to get my parents up to visit them, which might be a bit of an ask seeing as they live half way down the country, but I think they would love it just as much!
I would love to know if you’ve been to visit any Christmas markets this year – if so which ones have you been to?!
All my love,
