Favorite Festive Movies

Christmas is hands down my favorite time of year, from November 1st I go into full on Christmas mode, and spend 2 months being overly excited and annoyingly happy.

I’ve never really been one for movies, I tend to get quite bored, but when it comes to Christmas movies this is far from the truth. I’m obsessed, and I mean obsessed with Christmas movies, so I thought I would share with you some of my all time favorites!

Christmas With the Kranks

Christmas with the Kranks is my go to Christmas movie and I get slightly offended when people tell me they haven’t seen it. It’s one of the movies that I probably could recite word for word, but I’ll never get bored of. I hear a lot of mixed opinions on it, but its one of them overly exaggerated American movies, which I love.

I feel like Elf is another Christmas classic, and for me Christmas doesn’t really start until I’ve sat cozied up in bed, with a massive mug of hot chocolate and watched Elf. Fun fact, it took me years to finally give into the hype of Elf and watch it, but once I did I questioned why I was so reluctant to watch it for so many years. It’s again one of them movies I’ll never get bored of.

Love Actually

The film that has me go through ALL the emotions, literally, I’ll be laughing one minute then the next in absolute tears. I got introduced to Love Actually for the first time last year and I’ve watched it countless times since. It really is one of those movies that anyone and everyone will love and watch and I mean if you don’t love it, are you ok???

Home Alone

A little Christmas tradition that my family has sort of developed over the years is that on Christmas Eve we will always have a festive movie night, this movie is nearly always involved. It tends to work that my little brother picks 1 movie, and then once he has gone off to bed, my parents and I pick one. But more often then not Home Alone is the one picked by my brother.

And lastly, we have the Nativity. Although controversial opinion, I only like the first Nativity, I think the ones that followed on from the first weren’t as funny. This is another one that is normally featured in our Christmas movie night, a very family friendly one, and easy to watch.

I don’t think I’m ever going to tire of Christmas movies, if I had it my way I would watch them all year round, but admittedly I think I may be judged for that. I hope you’re enjoying these festive posts – where I’ve been absent recently and unable to partake in Blogmas, I thought I would jump on the band wagon half way through, seeing as I have now finished university for the year, and have the time to do so!

Han xx
